Books we’re reading.

How was everyone’s Christmas? I am reading the novel Gideon the Cutpurse by Linda Buckley-Archer. I purchased this and it is not in the library yet but so far it is interesting, 2 kids somehow find themselves in 1763 and are trying, with the help of Gideon, to find out how they were sent back in time and to find Tar Man who has taken off with a machine that Gideon says appeared at the same time the children did.

I finished Each Little Bird That Sings and it was similiar to the movie My Girl. Sad but with a good ending.

Our page just read November Blues by Sharon M. Draper and said that it was very good. We also have the sequel to Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli, Love, Stargirl.

I just finished Chew on this: everything you don’t want to know about fast food a very interesting book. Several things I did know about but the effort the fast food industry puts into studying what children eat and how to manipulate that was a little disturbing. Everyone should read this! I just took home the WAW book Each Little Bird That Sings, I talked about it earlier. Mrs. Murray has read Darkwing by Kenneth Oppel that is a new sci-fi book and a student has read the book and loved it.

New at the Library

I seem to be reading slow this week, hopefully I will finish my book and start a new one. I don’t have one in mind, any one have an idea? Be sure to look on our New Materials page for the lastest DVD’s at the library. We should be getting some new books this next week. Look for authors Danielle Steel, Dean Koontz, Dave Barry, J.D. Robb, Tom Brokaw, Sue Grafton, Greg Iles, Diana Palmer and more.
