Hello, in my web searching I found a fun page where you can find out how to pronounce several children’s authors names. Many of the authors tell a story of  how their name came about. This will be in our Databases in the right column but I am also putting it in the blog. Author: How do you say my name?

Well I have returned from my vacation, what a fun time. I just finished a couple of fun books. I am purchasing the series by Monica Ferris the first of which is Crewel World another fun murder mystery that also comes with a free needlework pattern in the back of the book! I also read the second book by Lisa Lutz entitled Curse of the Spellmans. It is about a family of Private Investigators that just can’t help spying on each other and everyone they meet. A funny story. We will be putting out some new movies in the next couple of days so be sure to check the new materials page. Also we have some new kids books that have just come in . Stop by and see what’s happening!

I just finished the last in the Yada Yada series. This is a really fun series that also deals with serious issues. Mrs. Murray just finished a chapter book entitled Swindle by Gordon Korman. It is a fun story about 2 young boys who find a priceless baseball card and get swindled when they sell it and how they come out on top. She is going to read next a young adult novel, Frozen Fire by Tim Bowler. It begins with a phone call from a stranger saying “I’m dying” and continues in suspense. Mrs. Wasson is going to read The Pearl by John Steinbeck.  Mrs. Dunn is listening to the Sunrise series by Karen Kingsbury. Don’t forget you can just click on the book cover and see if the book is back in our library yet. October is here and fall is in full swing. Enjoy a good book!
