Hello, it has been a busy fall and as winter is blowing in I am catching up with the blog. I have read the new Joanna Fluke book, Plum Pudding Murder, she is similar to Diane Mott Davidson in that in her books you will find recipes for the food they talk about. Mrs. Murray has read a couple of Young Adult books that are interesting, first is Jerk California by Jonathon Friesen a story of a young man with Tourette’s Syndrome. Second is the book Shark Girl by Kelly Bingam, a story about a teenager who lost her arm from a shark bite and how she is dealing with it. Look for the new Patricia Cornwell, James Patterson, Michael Connelly and David Baldacci. We also have several new movies, The Proposal, Up, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Ice Age: the Rise of the Dinosaurs, Love Finds a Home and more. Drop on by and pick something up! And keep a look on the blog because soon we will be posting our closings for over the holiday season.

I haven’t posted in a while but of course, I am still reading. I finished The Book Thief by Markus Zusak and it is a wonderful book about World War II. It is told from two views one being the Grim Reaper and another about a young girl. Very moving, very good. Another book we have talked about before but I just finally read is The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne, this is also about World War II. This is from a German boy’s view, his father is Comandant of Auschwitz and he befriends a young boy in the camp, secretly. This book was also made into a movie, which we just acquired. Mrs. Murray is reading Corsair by Clive Cussler, it is one of the Oregon Files books. Cussler is always a good read. Check out our New Materials page to see what is there, movies like Twilight, the movie The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Australia and more. Books are in by Mary Higgins Clark, her daughter Carol Higgins Clark, Harlan Coben and Diane Mott Davidson.

We have gotten several new non-fiction books that you might be interested in. The first set is entitled Eat This Not That. One is about simple food swaps to help you lose weight, the other shows items in the supermarket and compares the different brands and which is less fattening. Also we just received two books that have several mnemonics to help you remember things, we all remember “i before e except after c” and “thirty days has September…”. These books are full of old school ways to remember things, a fun look back at our school days.

Well, here it is March 2nd and I had forgotten to post our new materials for February!!! Be sure to look and see the new Grisham, Patterson, some new Vickie McDonough’s and more.
I have been reading quite a bit in February so let’s see what we have. The Year we Disappeared by Cylin Busby & John Busby is a father/daughter true story about a young police officer who is hunted down and shot and survives the attack but the shooter is not found right away and what this does to him and his family. I also finally read the story by Will Hobbs entitled Crossing the Wire, a story set after 9/11 about a young boy who after his father’s death in California on a job site is forced by poverty to try to cross the US/Mexico border illegally to get work and send money home to his Mom and family. Also don’t forget to get a copy of the One Book, One State read of The Virgin of Small Plains by Nancy Pickard, a Kansas author that is always a good read.

Hello, I just finsihed a really fun read, the book Multiple Bles8ings by Jon & Kate Gosselin and Beth Carson. This story is written by the couple of the TV show Jon and Kate Plus 8 that is on TLC, our channel 36. I am also reading The Host by Stephenie Meyers, it is her new book about aliens invading earth by taking humans as hosts. A really good Sci-Fi read. Mrs. Murray is listening to Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis, a children’s book and a Newbery winner in the year 2000. This is from the state Audio Books, Music and More.
