I just finished two books, The Shack by William P. Young. “This book has the potential to do for our generation what John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress did for his. It’s that good!” Eugene Peterson. This book was very good and thought provoking. Then on the lighter side I just finished the 4th installment of the Maximum Ride series, The Final Warning by James Patterson. Not as good as the others but still a fun read.

I just read Killing Floor by Lee Child and have started The Avion my Uncle Flew by Cyrus Fisher, a story about a teenager at the end of World War II, the fun part is that in the book the boy is learning French and you learn right along with him.

Hi, hope everyone is having a good Spring Break, I just finished Ana’s Story by Jenna Bush, the true story written by President Bush’s daughter about her time working with UNICEF. This book is very interesting and gives great info about HIV/AIDS, abuse, and how to volunteer and help others. I will be reading next the Worst Hard Time by Timothy Egan, a book about the Dust Bowl that took place here in our area. Mrs. Murray just read Copper Sun by Sharon Drapper and said it is an excellent read.

I am beginning the book Mentor: the kid and the CEO by Tom Pace, this book has gotten great reviews here and I am excited to read it. The book When the Black Girl Sings by Bill Wright, a new book from the Junior Library Guild, has gotten rave reviews from patrons. I thought we would talk about the Kansas Library Card program of books online with it’s Overdrive program. This program lets you download audio books to your computer, ipod, or mp3 player. There is music, children’s books, and adult books available. Mrs. Murray has just finished The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas by John Boyne. She enjoyed it so much she will be purchasing it next year! Mrs. Dunn is listening to Desert Rain by Elizabeth Lowell, a cowboy romance. Come to the library and ask about a Kansas Library Card and the Overdrive program!
