Hello, the Book Sale is winding down, Friday, September 4th is the last day please be sure to drop by if you haven’t done so already. Something new is that I read a book for High Plains in Words, a program that is on High Plains Public Radio every Friday. You can listen Friday at 10:30 on the radio station or follow the link on the book below. The book is This is the Bird by George Shannon.

Hello all, we will be having our annual Book Sale starting Tuesday August 25th. The library is open from 8 to 12, closed for lunch, open 1 to 5, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, Thursday we are open until 7 at night, and Saturday 10 to 12. Once school starts (August 28th) we will be open all day without closing for lunch. CASH ONLY

Perhaps you have noticed the signs around town about our new Book Club at the Rolla Library. We will be ordering our books next week, so if you are interested be sure to give us a call. We will read a book and meet once a month to discuss it and have our next book ready to go, food will be involved also. Just give us a call at 620-593-4328.

Mrs. Wasson has made a fun display for February. “Leap Year Feature” Books that have been made into movies and we own both the book and the movie. Examples: Charlotte’s Web, The Firm, Memoirs of a Giesha, The Lord of the Rings, A Time to Kill, Love’s Enduring Promise, French Lieutenant’s Woman, Just Like Heaven, Zathura, James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and many more.

I am kind of late getting this out but just as last year Kansas Center for the Book sponsored reading The Learning Tree by Gordon Parks, this year they are sponsoring In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. We own the book, audio, and video, if you are interested please come by the library.
