Books we’re reading…

I just read Killing Floor by Lee Child and have started The Avion my Uncle Flew by Cyrus Fisher, a story about a teenager at the end of World War II, the fun part is that in the book the boy is learning French and you learn right along with him.

What we’re reading

I just finished a great new paperback, the series by Lee Child I was talking about. I read the prequel The Enemy. Very suspenseful. Also the sequel to Gideon the Cutpurse is in, The Time Thief by Linda Buckley-Archer. I also read a Interlibrary Loan book I hope to start purchasing the series, Murder with Peacocks by Donna Andrews. I am starting the book Dead Silence by Brenda Novak, The Stillwater Trilogy, one of our donated paperbacks that has gotten great reviews by patrons.

What we’re reading…

Hi, hope everyone is having a good Spring Break, I just finished Ana’s Story  by Jenna Bush, the true story written by President Bush’s daughter about her time working with UNICEF. This book is very interesting and gives great info about HIV/AIDS, abuse, and how to volunteer and help others. I will be reading next the Worst Hard Time  by Timothy Egan, a book about the Dust Bowl that took place here in our area. Mrs. Murray just read Copper Sun by Sharon Drapper and said it is an excellent read.

What we’re reading

I just finished the 2006 Newbery winner, Criss Cross by Lynn Rae Perkins, a coming of age book that was interesting. I am beginning the book Mentor: the kid and the CEO by Tom Pace, this book has gotten great reviews here and I am excited to read it. The book When the Black Girl Sings by Bill Wright, a new book from the Junior Library Guild, has gotten rave reviews from patrons. I have also just heard of an author and will be ordering some of his books today, “You can’t put them down, they are that good”. Lee Child is the author. Have a good week! Remember the library will be open during Spring Break, Monday through Thursday, closed for Good Friday and the Saturday before Easter.

What we’re listening to!

I thought we would talk about the Kansas Library Card program of books online with it’s Overdrive program. This program lets you download audio books to your computer, ipod, or mp3 player. There is music, children’s books, and adult books available. Mrs. Murray has just finished The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas by John Boyne. She enjoyed it so much she will be purchasing it next year! Mrs. Dunn is listening to Desert Rain by Elizabeth Lowell, a cowboy romance. Come to the library and ask about a Kansas Library Card and the Overdrive program!
